Friends from Bedeque, Freetown and Summerside attended the funeral, which was conducted by Rev. Carlyle Webster, pastor of Zion Church, Charlottetown, who was a fellow-student in theology with her son, Rev. Louis H. Fowler, who accompanied the body from the west. Rev. Mr. Hoddinott of Bedeque assisted. Favorite hymns of the deceased lady were sung. The pallbearers were Messrs. Hon. Horace Wright, F. L. Cairns and Louis Cairns, nephews of the deceased; Albert Wright, Russell S. Burns and Ralph Callbeck. Mrs. Fowler was the eldest daughter of the late David Rogers of Freetown and was a resident of this province until her removal to Western Canada about 30 years ago. She leaves to mourn four sons: William, Calgary; Rogers, Brockville, Ont.; Harry, Regina; and Rev. Louis H., Renfrew, Ont.; also one brother, Henry Rogers of New Westminster, B.C.; and two sisters, Mrs. H. W. Birch, Calgary, and Mrs. S. R. Cairns, Freetown. Her husband, who was widely known throughout this province, predeceased her several years ago."13 |
