| Death | Sir Robert Bruce died on 12 August 1332, in the Battle of Dupplin Moor, Perthshire, Scotland, 56.363, -3.561G. The Battle of Dupplin Moor was the first major battle of the Second War of Scottish Independence. It was fought between supporters of King David II of Scotland, the son of King Robert Bruce and supporters of Edward Balliol, son of King John I of Scotland, backed by the Englsh. Bruce loyalists fought Balliol supporters. Leaders on the Bruce side were Donald, Earl of Mar, Robert Bruce and Duncan, Earl of Fife. Leaders of the Balliol supporters were Edward Balliol and Henry Beaumont. The result was victory for the side of Balliol.
