- William, his wife Susanna (who was seven months pregnant with Peregrine) and Resolved White emigrated from Southampton, England to Plymouth, Mass. on the ship Mayflower. He was one of the original forty-one signers of the Mayflower Compact. A number of speculations have been made as to the parentage of William, though no conclusive evidence has been presented. William and his two servants (William Holbeck and Edward Thompson) died shortly after the ship landed.
