- 'Winthrop probably came to Jefferson with his father James about 1806. He settled on the hill near the corner of the road to Summit and that leading from Moresville to the Old School Baptist Church, and not far from the Dingman graves in the clump of trees. He built a log house, but later lived at Enid (?illeg.) in the hollow north of the Baptist Church,where he died.' - Eugene Bouton From Leslie M Dyer: Filed marriage intention in Dudley MA 22 Apr 1798, but married in Sturbridge MA Died age 77 years 21 days. Grave stone reads'Blessed are they who die in the Lord' and has a willow tree on the top of the marker. Lived in Scholarie County, NY 1836, Bradbury Dyers Surrogate record-1996 from Leslie Dyer.
