[4, 5] Gender Male Biographical Note - Daniel Dyer was perhaps a drummer at the Battle of Bennington, in Vermont, in the early part of the Revolutionary War. After independence he was a member of the military, and part of the Vermont state government. 'Major Daniel Dyer, who fought under General Stark at the Battle of Bennington, and who had a reputation in Vermont as a sheep raiser.' went to Clarendon Vt from Rhode Island 1798 settled on a farm which was later owned by his daughter, Lydia S. Briggs, widow of Philip Briggs. Some of his information was found in the Boston Transcript Page: Pg 574 ======================== Daniel Dyer's family consisted of eleven children, nine of whom survived and were married, and their descendants now (1893) number over one hundred persons, who are living in at least twenty-five States of the Union. A large number of them have made envious reputations in the different walks of life.
