In 1735, land was deeded by his widow to his son, John Dyer, sixty acres and dwelling house, in Anshautatuck Neck. Charles Dyer was a blacksmith by trade. [Cutter] On 25 July 1712, John Scott of Newport, for L600 current money, deeded to Charles 'Dyere' of Dartmouth, in the County of Bristol & Province of Massachusetts, Blacksmith, a mansion house and 113 acres, and several small parcels of land in Providence.
