- Obituary: "The death occurred on Thursday of Mrs. D. Montgomery Waugh in Charlottetown where for a number of years she had lived with her sister, Mrs. John Collins, and Mr. Collins. Alice Hamilton Waugh was born 81 years ago in Summerside, the daughter of the late Daniel Hamilton and Elizabeth Lea Hamilton. In her youth she was a successful school teacher, having taught for a time in the Summerside High School. After her marriage to Mr. Waugh who was the senior partner of the firm of Waugh & Steeves, she continued to reside in Summerside until sometime after the death of her husband when she moved to Charlottetown. One son was born to her, a boy who lived to young manhood, then was suddenly stricken with a fatal illness to which he quickly succumbed.
Surviving are two sisters, Flora, R.N., in the United States, and Grace, Mrs. Collins, in Charlottetown. The funeral was held on Saturday from the Summerside Presbyterian Church where the service was conducted by Reverend Charles Carnegy. The pallbearers were Messers. L.R. Allen, T.D. Carruthers, Donald Baker, Thomas Johnston, Wm. Strong, and Frank Arnett. Burial was in the family plot in the Peoples Cemetery where she rests beside her husband."
