Note	Samuel Austin owned property in North Kingstown near the well knownlandmark called 'Devils' Foot'. The northern corner of his land on thepost road between Wickford and E. Greenwich he deeded to the Quidnessetchurch society and its 1st church was dedicated there Aug. 11, 1842. Anew church occupies the cite today. Ref. Naragansett Hist. Reg. Vol. II, pp. 112, 115, 242.
