He was indicted for the murder of his wife Hannah, and executed on that charge. 16 June 1719 - Whereas Samuel Dyer of Newport, yeoman, has petitioned Assembly to release the forfeiture of the estate of his brother William Dyre (who was lately executed in the town of Newport, which was forfeited to this colony) for the subsistence of his children; ordered that after charges of imprisonment, trial and execution of William Dyre are satisfied, real and personal shall be discharged.
