- Her father's sister, Elizabeth Howard, was the mother of Anne Boleyn, making them 1st cousins. Catherine was also the 1st cousin, once removed, of Lady Elizabeth Tudor, future Queen Elizabeth I, Anne Boleyn's daughter by King Henry VIII. Catherine was also the 2nd cousin of Jane Seymour (Catherine's grandmother, Elizabeth Tilney, was the sister of Jane's grandmother, Anne Say).

- Catherine lost her title as queen on 23 November 1541, and imprisoned in Syon House, Middlesex, throughout the winter of 1541/42. She was taken to the Tower of London on 10 February 1542. She was beheaded for treason at 7:00 on 13th February 1542.

- the Chapel of St. Peter ad Vincula is close to the Tower of London. Catherine's body was buried in an unmarked grave, where the body of her cousin, Anne Boleyn, is also buried. Catherine's body was identified during restorations of the chapel during Queen Victoria's reign. She is commemorated on a plaque on the west wall dedicated to all of those who died in the Tower of London.
