(The Maple Leaf, May, 1936).Obituary, Island Farmer, "The death of a well-known resident of Wilmot Valley in the person of Mrs. Catherine Walker, widow of the late William Walker, occurred Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs Frederick Clarke, Wilmot Valley. The late Mrs. Walker was born in Kelvin 85 years ago and almost spent the entirety of her life in the vicinity of her birthplace. As a bride she lived on the farm now owned by Hammond Toombs on the outskirts of Kensington where her four children, three of which predeceased her, were born.
After the death of her husband some years ago she lived with her daughter, the late Mrs. D. MacKenzie, Kensington and finally moved to Wilmot Valley to live with her only surviving child, Mrs. Clarke. During her long illness she was tenderly cared for by her daughter and grandchildren, who found no effort too great to endure her comfort and happiness. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from her late home to the Kensington cemetery."
