- The following text was transcribed from the plaque adjacent to his tombstone: "William Cousins, son of John Cousins and Mary Townsend, was born September 9, 1799. In the 1890's (sic) he married Mary Waugh and farmed a portion of his father's farm at Park Corner. He was also known as a shipbuilder and was referred to as Esquire. William and Mary were members of the Church of England and had five children, John C., James Waugh, Eliza, Archibald and Rachel".
