- daughters Henriann and Mary were born in Scotland, in 1823 and 1824, respectively. The book entitled William Schurman, Loyalist of Bedeque, states that John and his family emigrated in July 1825. John's obituary recorded that the family emigrated in 1822, which is incorrect.
