- The following story was received from Kathy Sheehan: While heading home from McGill University Cecil met his future wife, Muriel Ketchum. Muriel was living in Saint John when she decided to apply for a job as a milliner for someone named Laura Walker, on Prince Edward Island. Coincidentally, Laura was Cecil's sister. They were both on the same train headed for the Island, back in the day when trains travelled to the Island via the ferry. Cecil and Muriel got to know each other during the trip, perhaps flirting a bit. As it turned out Laura was at the ferry landing to meet each of them, but they weren't aware they were to meet the same person. Thus, their romance began. They married about a year and a half later. They had eight children; four survived to adulthood, one died as a two month old baby, two miscarriages and one female stillborn.
