| Biographical Note |
- I understand from information I received that Jean was born in 1909 in Arizona (conflicts with her birth registration) and lived there till she was about 18. She then moved to California to attend college.
Jean was an accountant and had two jobs until she married, one with a major department store in Los Angeles during the day, and one in the evenings for the county of Los Angeles as an accountant and auditor. Jean was very accomplished in mathematics. She also worked at the Los Angeles County Assessor's Office as a bookkeeper. She was known for her perfection and accuracy in everything she did, in bookkeeping, cooking and caring for her family. During her later years, she was the Treasurer Accountant and kept books for Circle Three of her Presbyterian Church. Never a penny was unaccounted for or missing.
Jean and her husband Morris had one child, Joan Celia (Dollie) Lavine. In July 1998 Jean lived with her daughter in Los Angeles until her death.
